The King of the South is once again tied up in legal woes! This time he is not directly responsible for the matters at hand. Remember the hit single “What You Know About That” well seems to be everything wasn’t cleared on the processing of that record and up & coming artist Filby had the following to say to Radaronline.com

Filby claims that TI’s Grammy-award winning track, “What You Know About That” shares the “same rate of harmonic range” and states the two recordings have “nearly identical instrumental melodic lines in terms of pitch, shape, and rhythm”. Filby is seeking damages and profits derived from that song.

What you think? Does the king need to worry about this issue or just keep it pimpin’ as usual.

The king of the south is ready to get back in the studio and drop his new long awaited album. Looks like being locked down didn’t affect his grind…just made it stronger.

Producer Jim Jonsin who is responsible for hits like TI’s “Whatever U Like” is back in the studio with him working on the kings latest effort. He said the following:

He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in.

and what direction is the king going with this album:

He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email,” Jonsin reveals. “He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”

The project’s direction is still up in the air. “That’s really going to be determined by him. We’re supposed to get together or talk more about it soon,” Jonsin shares. “But his last album was great and his sound already does really well, so I wouldn’t see him changing too much.”

Former Atlantic Records VP Kevin Liles hinted on his Twitter page that the Kind of the South was back in the studio already after being released early last month for Christmas. Here’s what the Tweet said:

“My right hand went home to visit family & found his way to the studio. He said ‘why wait for 2010, get it in now’ Love the attitude!”

Many believe he’s talking about TI. What do you think? Is he talking about TIP.
